| A Note about Touring |
 |
| During the winter, the Tufts Symphnoy Orchestra often tours, with the purpose of fostering group unity, exposing its musicians to other cultures, and spreading classical music to countries and cultures that are often lacking this type of music. At all occasions where it has performed abroad, the TSO has been graciously welcomed and appreciated by its audiences. In Kingston, Jamaica, one performance prompted an editorial in the Jamaican national print news, entreating the government to provide more funding for cultural events. In Germany, collaboration with a local orchestra caused that orchestra to choose Boston as its next tour destination. A concert in Cruzeiro, Brazil had the excited Brazilian audience literally screaming for an encore. |

| TSO touring is as important as it is fun and rewarding. Almost without fail, every TSO performance abroad has brought the audience to a standing ovation. Without fail, every tour has brought the group closer together. Musicians who are comfortable with one another perform better: this logic extends up to the very top-tier orchestras around the world. Success and appreciation abroad, working together, spreading the Tufts name, while at the same time absorbing foreign cultures, having fun, and giving back to the communities that support the symphony, are all ingredients that make TSO tours as successful, satisfying, and valuable as they have been. |
